PULLING THE BAND TRAILER

TRAILER INFORMATION

If you are interested in pulling our band equipment trailer, here are some important details:

The trailer is a tandem axle Wells Cargo and is 20 feet long (24 feet including the hitch) , 8 feet high and 8 feet wide. The trailer is stored in the Hollister School District main yard on Cienega Road.

The hitch uses a 2-inch ball and the ball height should be 21 inches,

It's equipped with surge brakes so NO electrical brake hookup is required

The tongue weight is approximately 300 to 500 pounds depending on the total cargo loaded. Total trailer weight is between 3000 and 5000 pounds depending on cargo loaded.

The wiring connector is a "standard" 7-PIN round plastic connector with power to run the interior lights

We recommend a truck or SUV with a V-8 engine for best towing performance. A V-6 engine will work, but your hill climbing ability will be slow.

The tow vehicle assumes liability for the trailer so we require "full coverage" insurance with $100,000 minimum liability coverage.

If you will be pulling the trailer for the first time, we recommend that you go to the yard and hook up once to make sure everything works BEFORE you'll be pulling. Any of the Booster Board members can arrange to get you the keys.
